frequently asked questions

How waterproof is my tent?

The amount of waterproofing of a cloth is expressed as a value known as "water column". The water column indicates how many millimetres of water per square centimetre (in a column) can stand on the cloth, before leaking through. A water column of minimally 1,000 mm is generally considered "waterproof" for an outdoor material. For the groundsheet, a higher water column is required. The groundsheet undergoes pressure from both sides, the (wet/damp) ground plus the pressure of the camper and his baggage.
