Nomad was originally a producer of travel and camping equipment, such as sleeping bags, backpacks, tents, shoes (including walking shoes) and functional clothing. Starting out in the ‘80s, the brand soon took up a leading position within the traditional distribution channels, such as specialist outdoor sports shops, sports shops with outdoor departments, chain stores and camping equipment shops.

Our product range is divided into 4 categories:
- Protection (clothing, shoes)
- Carry (backpacks, travel bags)
- Rest (tents, sleeping bags and mats)
- Discovery (unusual travel and hot air balloon flights).

Nomad Travel Experiences: unique travel experiences
A nomad existence is at the forefront of the brand experience: we focus explicitly on those who enrich themselves through travel. With this in mind, Nomad began in 2005 to plan and organize travel. The inspiration for Nomad travel stems from traditions of indigenous people who, of old, have an authentic way of life and travel. The result is a number of unique journeys: the themes, the destination, or perhaps the combination of both, are to be found nowhere else. And by taking the time to ‘be there’ at each destination, you will experience the country and its people in a whole new way.

Respect for man and nature
Nomad and sustainable business
As the producer of travel equipment, it is only natural that we take responsibility for the sustainable production of our products with respect for man and nature. We are therefore striving to maximize the social conditions in the countries where we produce when it comes to fair pay, well-organized working hours with sufficient breaks, and creating a clean and safe working environment. In addition, we strive to protect nature as much as possible as far as the production process and the materials we use are concerned. For these reasons, we choose, for example, high quality materials that extend the lifespan of the products and thus lead to less waste.

Nomad and MADE-BY
In 2007, we formed a partnership with MADE-BY; the label for sustainably produced fashion. MADE-BY helps us to establish targets for production that is both socially and ecologically justified, to achieve transparency in the production chain and to find suppliers of natural materials and ‘fair’ labour. The first step in the move to a fully sustainable product range was the introduction of Tops, made from 100% bio-cotton. For more information: www.made-by.nl.

Nomad and Trees for Travel
Since 2004, we work with Trees for Travel: the organisation that neutralizes the emission of greenhouse gases through planting trees. Both the business flights and the flights booked for our trips are only made on CO2 neutral flights. This means that for every flight that is taken, a small donation is made to Trees for Travel. With the proceeds they finance the planting, restoration and conservation of forests and sustainable energy projects. More information on www.treesfortravel.nl
